    2. I am finding no reference to Ewen on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission website, but firmly believe he should be on their registers. Will initiate proceedings to have that done.

  2. Hello,
19 new names were added to the Brookwood Memorial to the Missing recently by the CWGC and Ewan's is one of them.
With another ex CWGC employee we have identified an unmarked grave in Moray to another of those added. All the evidence has been passed to the CWGC so, hopefully, this grave will be marked as it should be.
We are trying now to locate the burial place of Ewan. As he died at home we assume he is buried nearby in a family plot most probably as his sister died the day after him.
Can we help each other in any way?

    1. Have put out a query on the North Uist Appreciation Society page on Facebook, hope to get an answer that way.

    2. The registrar for the area has told me that there is an old part of Kilmuir cemetery, where burials took place until 1929. Unfortunately, there are no written records for that time. The local council are however happy for a headstone to be erected in that part of the cemetery, if CWGC are prepared to do so.
